The Master in Regions and Transitions provides training in sustainable regional economic development. Year 2 of the master’s is offered as a traineeship. This multidisciplinary programme is open to students from Saint-Étienne School of Economics and, in Year 2, to students from Sciences Po Lyon. It provides future local and regional development professionals with the skills they will need in a multi-stakeholder working environment. The courses draw on the expertise of the School’s faculty members in urban and regional economics and planning, local public economies, project management and political science. Students spend Year 2 on a traineeship contract, alternating between the workplace and studying. They also carry out a study commissioned by a local or regional authority or organisation. More information on the Master in Regions and Transitions The Master’s in Economics, Data and Decision Science offers advanced training in economic analysis, econometrics and data science, delivered entirely in English. It is aimed at students who wish to apply high-level theoretical and empirical tools to understand contemporary economic dynamics and inform decision-making in a data-driven environment. The programme combines a solid foundation in microeconomics, macroeconomics and quantitative methods with specialised modules in applied economics and machine learning. Backed by the GATE Lyon Saint-Étienne mixed research unit, the programme offers direct exposure to academic research and provides rigorous preparation for PhD programmes in economics, whilst developing transferable skills in strategy, consultancy and public policy analysis. Graduates go on to pursue a variety of career paths: entry into PhD programmes, careers in data science, strategy consultancy, and economic analysis within public, private or international institutions. Language requirements
French B2 Certificate (DELF B2) AND English B2 Certificate (IELTS 6.0+ or TOEFL iBT 80+) are both required.
Admission requirements
Bachelor's degree (Licence or recognized international equivalent) with a minimum of 180 ECTS credits in a relevant field of study. Admission is highly competitive and based on academic records (GPA), relevancy of previous coursework, and motivation.
